Atlantic Wreckfish in Corn Puree @ Applewood: Have this before it goes away

My vote for best dish of the summer? It may very well be Applewood's Atlantic Wreckfish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wreckfish) served in a corn puree (you're going to want to ask for a drinking straw). There's also an interesting green swimming around in that puree (forgot to note the name). Enjoy it before the season changes.

Also, the $35 prix-fixe is a marvelous bargain: four courses plus two amuses. The second amuse, a scoop of chocolate sorbet with chile will wake you up. The dessert was a maple sugar crepe.

Again, Applewood excels.

      I have always loved the food at Applewood. I posted about the wreckfish because it was so extraordnary...and so temporary. Corn won't. be around too much longer and the wreckfish, according to my fishseller, has a three-week season .

    2. Well, it isn't summer yet, but I had the most delicious appetizer special of razor clams and chive pancakes in a lobster nage ($12). Everything was perfectly cooked and I was using the bread to sop up every last bit of sauce. I'm hoping they will put this on the regular menu.

      I hope to be able to try the wreckfish in corn puree this summer.
