Chef's table or other high end (quality) dining near Wild Horse Pass

pgerding Sep 1, 2010 09:05 AM

I guess I'm a North Valley snob, but I'm struggling to think of anything really good down south near the Sheraton there, other than I'm sure folks will mention Kai. Would like to get the crew out a bit, though.

But I do not want to have to hustle all the way to to Camelback (NOCA, Tarbells, etc) or further. I just can't think of anything super good quality, chef's table or private dining room preferred, in Chandler or close there.

Anybody have any good recommendations?

Quiessence has a special chef's table which they call "The Brick Oven Table". Haven't dined there, some people really like it, others are so-so. This is near Baseline and 32nd so about 20 min from Sheraton. http://www.quiessencerestaurant.com/

Cork gets generally good reviews, but it's more small plates than special chef's table ... http://www.corkrestaurant.net/locatio...

Kai would get my vote (dined there six times since November) over either of these or anything up north though.

Kai would be the prime choice. Check their schedule, as they are closed right now. Do not recall their re-opening date.

BTW -did brunch at Cork, and it was very good. Should I find myself down that way at dinner time, I will go. Their wine program, and list is fun too.

Only complaint that I had was the brunch portions - they were giant. "Small plates" sounded good to me.
