I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for kitchen stores/flea markets in Lyon.

I have a few items I am interested in:

* terrine and butter molds
* chateau laguiole knives/corkscrews
* vintage Sabatier carbon cutlery
* vintage champagne buckets
* ceramic pickling jars

If anyone has any tips on where to look for these items, I would be very thankful. Or if you have any other ideas on interesting things to pick up.

Thanks.

  1. For vintage cookware, have you looked up the calendar of brocantes-vide-grenier for Lyon?
    You can find it here:

    Input Lyon for "ville".

    Nearly all my flatware nad tableware come from those brocante fairs, including vintage silver from Pré Catelan, tinted tapered beurrier with cloche, vintage champgne bucket justement, liqueur glasses…, even my dining chairs, LOL.

      Thanks for the tip. Just my luck though the next time there is one in Lyon is the day I leave.

        Shucks.
        There areseveral of those brocante fairs every weekend in Paris, except in August and in the couple of severe winter months. You can look them up on the calendar.

          In Paris, or rather just outside, you also have Neptune, in Montreuil where this chowhound acquired, amongst other things, silver napkin rings, a 19th century hand-painted coffee pot, a half dozen Le Creuset pans, cut glass a gogo, and a stuffed squirrel.
