About Brix?

Is it really true that Daire Rooney has left Brix? Last issue of online ezine Rural Intelligence there was a picture of her with other people at some gala or other, and she was identified as free-lance chef Daire Rooney. If true, how sad!

The food did change somewhat but Joad's persistence in quality keeps it one of my got to's.

IMO, Brix is still the best restaurant in Pittsfield and one of the best in Berkshire County. Seating is always limited, but the duck confit is worth the wait.

Unfortunately she has. From what I understand she is now doing some free lance catering. She provided the food for a friend's birthday and it was STELLAR!

I was at a dinner party Saturday night that she catered. It was fantastic food. Some of the best swordfish that I've ever had....melt in your mouth good, lamb....tender and perfectly cooked and an olive oil cake that was to die for. Daire told me she has an opportunity for a chef job out of state that she'll be deciding on soon. Her sister who is a server at Nudel in Lenox also worked the party.
