Claudia Roden's The Book of Jewish Food

I have have owned Claudia Roden's, "The Book of Jewish Food", for a few years, yet I have never cooked from it. The Guardian is calling the cookbook one of the top 10 cookbooks. What recipes have you tried that you liked? What recipes should I avoid? Please help me to get started.
