Downtown Calgary Business Supper for 15

Ryinz_YYC Aug 31, 2010 03:08 PM

Hi Everyone,

Any suggestions on a place to have a business supper for aprox 15 people? Looking for a place with really nice ambiance and great food. Price is not really an issue. Downtown area or around 17th Ave SW would be preferred.

You're going to release a storm of suggestions, there are lots of fantastic places for business supper in downtown Calgary.

I think Caesar's is still the best steak in town, and leans towards formality and the dark warm abiance is very businesslike. However Caesar's is a not near 17th ave if you are looking to be further sount.

I've also heard raving reviews about Teatro lately. They are another great spot but you might find it harder to get reservations. I havent been there in the evening in a long time so not totally sure.

There's two to start; I'm sure you will recieve hundreds more recommendations.. ;)

      Would you want some privacy?

Catch (and other restaurants) has (semi-)private rooms available.

I have always been happy with my meals at Catch and it is not just seafood - there are plenty of options for carnivores.

The good people at Centini have never let me down for a business dinner. Service has always been exceptional and the food (especially the seafood appetizer platter) has been outstanding in my opinion.

Centini used to be one of my favourite places to dine but the last two times I've been there, I or someone in my party found their food incredibly salty. Perhaps off days but still disappointing. I do agree though, the service here is great but I've heard their maitre d (who always was extremely friendly and personable) is no longer there.

There are a lot of downtown restaurants that cater to large business functions and I would heartily endorse all of the ones that have been listed here.

I 2nd the suggestion for Teatro! Never Ever have had a bad meal there and the room and building are one if not the best in the city! They also have a pvt dining room called the Opera room which could offer you some extra privacy, and the room is mad cool, all red with a bit of a asian vibe. I have heard good things about Rush as well but have not been yet...

Ryinz- this is downtown Calgary. This is what restos here DO. I'd just pick a good place (some of my DT faves are Rush, Catch, River Cafe, Centini), call and book it.
