Revive: Kombucha soda on draft at Sonoma County farmers markets

The craze for kombucha never caught on with me after tasting aspirin-sour and bretty examples. But I'm never one to turn down a free sample, and the taste I had of Revive kombucha on draft at the Santa Rosa Wednesday night market turned my head around. Very fruity, highly carbonated, and off-dry, I found it quite delicious and refreshing. Revive sells 22 oz. and 64 oz refillable bottles or just a cup to drink on site at the Cotati and Rohnert Park farmers markets. Once the market season ends at the end of September, Revive hopes to have a retail refill window at its Windsor brewing facility. The kombucha was offered at Outside Lands this year so some of you City folk might have tasted it.

I don't recall exactly. I think the 22 oz was about $3 + a deposit on the bottle.

The owner of Revive also works at Trione winery. We had an interesting conversation about residual sugar and acidity balance as he continues to tweak his formulation.

    2. I just tasted some similarly fantastic kombucha at the SOMA Whole Foods. Any idea if Revive is the supplier?

Reading your post reminded me to mention Revive. The company is less than a year old. I don't know where else it distributes other than at farmers markets and other special events.

Very cool. Thanks for the heads up. I love seeing more "homemade" kombucha by producers. It's a completely different product from what's been available, which like you said is horrible.

      2. Melanie...thanks for the very kind review. Here's the link to our webpage and facebook page.

We have officially launched our retail refill/exchange program, locations listed on facebook page. We create, brew, ferment and bottle our Revive at our Lab in Windsor CA. We deliver/pickup our bottles milk man style to our retailers. We also just started selling our kegs to local restaurants, cafes etc., since one of the best ways to enjoy our revive - kombucha soda is on draft!
