need recs. for north Atlanta...
The wife and I are planning a sort of "ethnic food crawl" for north Atlanta (Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Buford Hwy., etc.) for October. We are open to just about anything as long as it's fresh, flavorful, and not super expensive. We are particularly interested in Dim Sum, Vietnamese, South American, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Thanks, ATL Hounds!

a friend of mine from Shanghai took me to Canton House a few weeks ago--he told me it was very close to what he gets in Shanghai--the Dim Sum was outtstanding---and if you spend $15 for a meal each you get a lobster for $5!!.Ive also eaten at Little Szechuan, very good but no dim sum.Oriental Pearl nearby has it and very good

Mi Pilon is on Buford Hwy outside I-285 at Mitchell Road and serves delicious modestly priced food from the Dominican Republic from steam tables. Crawfish Shack is on Buford Hwy opposite Peachtree Dekalb Airport and is a Vietnamese run Cajun operation. Desta has the best Ethiopian food in the area. So Kong Dong is just inside I-285 on Buford Hwy and serves very tasty Korean cuisine. Hong Kong BBQ in the Food Court at Chinatown Square is always worth a visit. The food court at the Super H Mart by the Doraville GM plant has several very good Korean, Japanese, and Chinese vendors along with a Vietnamese bakery. Blissful Gutton's blog will also give excellent insights on your ethnic food crawl.
