Best tex mex in Dallas/Fort Worth area?
Any recommendations for the best tex mex in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? Grateful for any suggestions.
Gonzalez's on Jefferson in Oak Cliff is my favorite. Specifically for the enchiladas with chile con carne. Takes Tex Mex to a whole new level of deliciosity.
I love Casa Milagro on Campbell at Plano Road for my Tex-Mex fix. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable and the staff is very welcoming. Also, they have the best Margarita's around
I Also love Gonzalez on Jefferson in Oak Cliff. Their flour tortillas (made in house) are famous.
And, their pork stew is amazing.
El Ranchito, also on Jefferson is very good as well for Tex-Mex and, Mex-Mex.

Gonzalez is good but watch out for the tortillas just eat one as they are thick and very filling. Also ask for the salsa fresca, the table sauce that everyone gets is heavy on the onions and rather sweet too.
I like Tipico's on NW Hwy on Bachman Lake in Dallas or in Carollton on Beltline just past Josey. They have the best refrieds I have ever had. The cheese enchiladas are also quite good and not covered in chile con carne nor ranchera sauce but a chili gravy. My wife also loves both salsas. I happen to prefer the salsa fresca for the summer time and the warmed salsa for the winter.

I'm a Herrera's fan... been eating there for over 35 years. Several locations... the quasi-original on Maple west of Oak Lawn is my fave. And now they have booze!
In the direction of Ft Worth, but not quite there, Lupe's in Bedford is a favorite of mine. Good chili rellenos and spinach enchiladas. Chicken is seasoned very well. 2 out of 3 times the brisket tacos have been exceptional in flavor and quantity. (Be certain they bring the sauce if you like heat) Last time I ordered, they were light on brisket quantity. Some of the wait staff are fairly fluent in English, but a lot - not. So if that type thing frustrates you....
