Dinner in Yorktown heights/Tarrytown area

I'm planning a dinner with a small group in the Northern Westchester area. I'm thinking of Jennifer's German restaurant or Solmar in Tarrytown? I haven't been to either place.
Any opinions?
Any other recommendations in the near by area are welcome (peekskill, ossining)

    How big is your group?

I am not a fan of either Jennifer's (overpriced) or Solmar (just didn't like the food)....Agree with others that Zeph's in Peekskill is excellent. I also like Peter Pratts Inn in Yorktown.

that's kind of a wide area (Tarrytown is about 25 minutes from Yorktown); kind of depends what you're looking for. Zephs's in Peekskill is very nice, and I've liked Julianna's in Cortlandt. There's Memphis Maes or Unami in Croton-- those are kind of casual. There are quite nice places like Iron Horse in Pleasantville which is far closer to Yorktown than is Tarrytown. What I'm trying to say is there's a big geographic and culinary range in what you're asking.

Sorry for being too general. We live in the middle in ossining, so looking for something in either direction. Looking for American, Contemporary or Italian. I've heard of great things about Zeph's
How is Iron horse for a relatively formal dinner meeting? Thank you.

I would definitely choose Zephs' if you're looking for something a little formal. The food is fabulous!

Iron Horse is excellent for a formal dinner meeting, so long as you can fit into their private area (maybe a dozen people, call and check). And they have a 3 course price fixed menu which is pretty reasonable (you get to pick anything on the menu). I like Zeph's but I think that Iron Horse is a better choice if you're talking about having a meeting.
