Breakfast review Top O' The Mornin Waterbury CT

  • 2

We decided to go here for breakfast on sunday august 29th, 2010 before our sunday drive. Read about it in CT Magazine in an article about different spots in CT for breakfast. It's right off route 8 exit 29 in Waterbury on South Main St right next to the Wayside Market. Easy on and off route 8. The interior is kind of rustic. I had eggs over medium with the homemade corned beef hash, hash browned potatoes and whole grain toast. The hash was very good with a slight taste of something like cinnamon, cloves, allspice, or some other spice like that. I couldn't quite figure it out but it was good. The hash browned potatoes were very buttery. My partner had a wrap with scrambled eggs, hash, and cheedar cheese. It looked really good and he enjoyed them. The place was crowded and there were more people coming in as we were leaving after 10am. The coffee was typical diner coffee and could use some help. The pancakes looked good as they passed by us to other tables, that might be an option for the next time. We would both definitely go back.

  1. I've been there twice and you're right about the coffee, it needs a bit of help! The corned beef hash is what keeps me happy!

    1. I love this place. Don't pass up on the lunches either - I used to have lunch there 3 days a week when I worked nearby. I miss the "top" !!
