Can anybody suggest where to buy black rice in the area? Was going to check C mart, whole foods but figured somebody might already know where to get it. Thanks!

  1. I've purchased Lundberg Farms Black Japonica (a black/mahogany blend) at my local WF in Hingham. I don't imagine you'll anything more than that at most WF.

        thanks all for your suggestions!

      2. I think I've also seen it at Christina's in Inman Square, Cambridge.

        1. I've seen it at H Mart in Burlington.

          1. if you're out to the west, you might check Debra's Natural Gourmet in W Concord or call. I don't recall if they have black rice, but they do have a pretty good section of rice and very well might.

            1. I bought some at Shaws in Brighton (in the Wild Harvest Section). I have seen it in other local grocery stores as well.

              1. I think I got some at Russo's.

                1. I know this stretches the definition of "in the area", but I bought a bag of forbidden rice at Kalustyans in New York City, and it turned out to be some of the very best rice that I've ever made. Probably also the priciest. You can pick it up if you're in the NYC, or order on-line.

                  1. The best I've had is the Forbidden Rice imported by Lotus Foods...It's from China, and they have it at many Whole Foods, and sometimes at Harvest Co-op in Central Sq. Sometimes even the Wild Harvest sections at some Shaw's...

I buy this at the Prudential Shaws, in the Wild Harvest section as GG mentioned.

                    2. We've gotten it a WFM Fresh Pond in the bulk section.
