ISO: Sausage Casings

Hey guys,

My dad wants to make some homemade sausages but needs the casings. Does anyone know where I can buy some?

You can get them at Highland Farms. But I find the quality so-so. They tend to be short and can break. I made 20lbs of sausage this past weekend, so am particularly sensitive to poor quality casing. I went to my old standby, Jerry's Supermarket on Danforth between Coxwell and Greenwood. Long casings that don't break too easily.
If that's not convenient for you, I'd check any reputable butcher that makes sausage in house.

I don't know anything about sausage casings, but I do know I saw some "collagen" casings at Bass Pro Shop in Vaughan Mills.

I can vouch for Jerry's. It is a good place to get casings and the rest of your meat for your sausage debauchery.

they have the lamb casings as well. they're expensive at abotu $8 a ring, but they're a must if you're making merguez.

I tried my hand at using collagen casing. don't like how you can't twist them.
