Cheap, good, with vegetarian options, West LA or therabouts
As the header states. I'm looking for an inexpensive restaurant with vegetarian options (one of the party is vegetarian, but does eat eggs and dairy) vaguely in the West LA area. Culver City or Century City or thereabouts is fine too.
Normally I'd suggest one of the Japanese restaurants on Sawtelle and Olympic, but I think fish broth would be hard to avoid. Also, no Indian food - the vegetarian guest is Indian, and tends to find American Indian food disappointing.
if you'd be open to Persian or Lebanese, maybe Shamshiri or Sunnin Lebanese Cafe would be within budget...

"Mediterranean" eateries are worth a try. I think this general category of cuisine tends to be thought of as for carnivores only. But many dishes tend to be one extreme or another - bludgeon you with meat (shwarma, kabob, gyro, tawook), or no meat and sometimes little if any animal products included at all (hummus, baba ganoosh, labneh, falafel, tabouleh, batata harra).
Mezza in Downtown Culver City is one of our go-to places when a variety of eaters need to be sated. The food is solid, it's different and somewhat exotic to many, and there's enough variety to satisfy most eaters' appetites and requirements.
My sister is a vegan, my parents are in their 80s and usually stick with Japanese, Chinese or relatively mild dishes for the bulk of their meals, and my family will eat just about anything. Mezza is one of the few places where everyone seems to have their peace.
