Fun eating places in Dallas.

  • 4

We're going to Dallas in October for the fair ( we're from Midwest), and hoping for some suggestions for fun/good eating places. There will be a bunch of adults, and 3 kids ages 8,8 and 6.

Your recs help me, too. We are also headed to the fair from Louisiana. I know I am eating brunch at La Duni!

We are staying at the Marriot in Richardson.

    2. Check the calendar for the fair for the cooking demonstrations. One year I filled up on prime steaks from Morton's and no one was in the crowd. They also have a very nice canning competition that is nice to see. The skill of some of the canners is remarkable. I believe there is also a Spam competition too, not as big as Spamarama in Austin but still interesting nonetheless.

Some big names on the roster this year, Abraham Salum (Salum), Bruno Davallion (The Mansion at Turtle Creek), Tiffany Derry (Top Chef), Matt Raso (Nobu), John Tesar (Dallas Chophouse), Blythe Beck (Central 214/Naughty Kitchen), Gilbert Garza (Suze), etc etc

      1. You should check out Mattito's for brunch, lunch or dinner.
