Need Restaurant for Large Group in Bucks County

  • 8

Can anyone recommend a restaurant with a private room or other facility that can accommodate about 20 to 25 people (including some kids) for a special family event on a weekend in October? Good food, festive atmosphere. Much appreciated.

  1. Can you be more specific about the part of Bucks County you are interested in?

We're staying near Doylestown, but could probably drive up to a half hour in any direction.

Actually, we're in Perkasie, which is a few miles from Doylestown, and near Quakertown, I think.

Gai- You have a few choices to consider in the greater Perkasie area. Two in Sellersville that serve traditional food and that can accomdoate you are

          Washington House in Sellersville www.washingtonhouse.net
          Arielle's Country Inn http://www.ariellescountryinn.com/

In Doylestown proper, you have several choices.

          The Freight House http://www.thefreighthouse.net/
Maxwell's on Main just reopened with new chefs. Theme is New Orleans,

Another place to consider is the Knight House. i am not a big fan of their revamped Asian fusion menu.

If your family is Chinese and are looking for a traditional Chinese banquet facility, Golden City in Colmar has been serving the Chinese communitiy for years. My friends from Shanghai said it was the best food they have had without going to a chinatown area.

I am sure others can suggest some more options. Each of these, with the possible exception of M.O.Ms on Main has private rooms and can also arrange menus in advance.

Good luck and congratulations in advance.

Thanks very much. We're trying the Freight House, although their private room might be booked. Do you have any views on Slate Bleu? (By the way, the family is not Chinese -- "Gai Yang" is a Thai chicken dish that I'm very fond of, so it's my Chow name.)

Slate Bleu, along with Honey are the two best restaurants in Doylestown, hands down. I did not suggest slate bleu because 1) I didn't know whether they could accomodate a large group, and 2) not sure how children would react to classical french cooking. But from a food stand point, it is outstanding.

We enjoy slate bleu... but I have to agree with cwdonald that it might not work for kids. I enjoy all the Perkasie suggestions so far.

You could also look into revivals in Perkasie. http://www.revivalsrestaurant.com/Rev...

The food we have tried there has pretty good and the staff is pleasant sometimes live music etc.

      2. We like Hawkeye's in Silverdale; might be too far for you though. Good atmosphere, but somewhat loud (wooden floor). Good place for a fun family get-together but when we brought a large group, they just put us in the main DR at our own table. Reservations strongly recommended.
