Best Boston Cream Pie?

My husband wants a Boston Cream Pie for his birthday, and I don't have the time before next weekend to master this. Where can I buy a great Boston Cream Pie? I can go just about anywhere - in town, inner suburbs or outer suburbs (west and north preferred).

Thanks!

Deluxe Town Diner serves an excellent Boston cream pie by the (huge) slice. Maybe their baker could make you a whole one.

I know this thread is old, but I remembered the recommendation for Deluxe Town Diner and ordered the BCP there, and was disappointed -- not bad, but dryish cake and super sweet, and served with Hershey's-style (or maybe actually Hershey's) chocolate syrup. Around the same neighborhood, Lilly's French Bakery makes an excellent one (unfortunately, not by the slice).

Order one from the Parker House. They are delicious. Ben and Jerry has it as a new flavor and it's awesome.

Just tried the Ben & Jerrys - it's good but it needs more chocolate. Wish they had put a chocolate ganache or fudge swirl thru it instead of a couple of random chocolate "chips". Liked the Makin' Whoopie Pie flavor (sadly, it's retired) MUCH better.

I agree. One of the top 2 or 3 B&J flavors of all time for sure.

Quebrada akery in Wellesley has a great one. Located next to Whole Foods. In town I believe you can order one from the originator-Parker House. Very delicious.

I really like Rosie's BCP, but it's a really dense, super-sweet version. The cream filling is as firm as a panna cotta (and, IMHO, it's ambrosial), the cake is almost pound cake-like in its dense crumb, and the chocolate "glaze" is really a thick layer of fudge-like ganache. It comes in a small (7"?) size that 2 people can finish before it gets stale.

My husband also always wants a BCP for his birthday, and one year I made one out of "The Best Recipe" cookbook--it was my first try and it actually turned out great. But, in fact, I almost always get him a Rosie's one.
