Any Reports on New Kerbey Lane?
I've eaten there a couple of times, and I'd say it was standard KL fare. Although I like the building and the proximity to my house, everything else is pretty much the same as the one I go to on Lamar. The lighting in the one on Lamar always seemed too bright, but maybe that's because I only go there after 1am or so. I do remember thinking that it is unusual to eat at KL when it's daylight.
This one is set up with more distance between the booths and tables it seems. It's nice to sit at a table where I don't have to listen to other people's conversations. This one is a much more 'family-oriented' version than the others.... there were lots of families with little kids running around. It is nice to have something 24 hours down here.
We went a week ago, and found it to be pretty much Kerbey Lane. Busy, long wait, reliable food with a focus on local sourcing. Never has KL knocked my socks off, but I am usually satisfied and often pleased. They did a nice job on the interior, and there is a nice shaded area with picnic tables for the loooooooong Sunday brunch wait. I had my usual Kerbey scramble - it was good. Another had the Denver omelette sub bacon for ham....fresh, crisp-tender veggies and a good amount of bacon. Another had the special pancake - strawberry chocolate chip. We are happy to have this in the 'hood!
