Good restaurant in Winthrop

Any type of food. We are heading there today and was wondering if anyone out there knew of a decent place to have lunch.

alia ristorante on shirley street. it's a small italian restaurant with exceptional customer service and wonderful homemade italian food. i recommend the eggplant rollantini, tortellini soup, ravioli greca, and homemade tiramisu for dessert. the owner is moroccan and can also make some moroccan dishes (lamb tagine with couscous) upon request

Thank you. We are ready to leave the house shortly. Perfect timing.

We went to Alia just the other day. I would say that the enthusiasm of the charismatic owner outstripped the quality of the food. The risotto was rice, not risotto. Flavors just OK. He may have been having a bad day. It was late. We really wanted to like it very much because the owner was so much fun.

We heard that Di Palma's was good -- basic Italian, very crowded, though. Any thoughts?

Di Palma's has seriously gone down hill. It's off of our regular rotation. Not sure what happen, I heard they change owners, but they are nothing like they used to be.

Thanks, jjbourgeois. Too bad! We fish in Winthrop and would like a place for a bite afterwards. How about Rosetti's, I think it's called, on the beach road?

DiParma is passable, I usually get their swordfish, probably one of the better things on the menu. Rossetti's is good a well, Bobby (owner) is very outgoing. Both are BYOB. I'd recommend taking a short ride to Eastie and hit up Rino's, excellent old school Italian.

Haven't tried Rosetti's yet, but hopefully in the next month or so we'll get out that way.
