New in the East Bay?
We just got back from a summer away and are, as usual, looking forward to being back where the food is so good. What new restaurants, trucks, etc. have opened in the East Bay while we were gone? We heard about Slow. Others?

re: wolfe
Gather is a bit older. But there's Saturn Cafe at Oxford & Allston across the street from Gather --veggie/vegan food in a diner type setting. A new Filipino place--which I believe has the curious name of No Worries--is about to open on Franklin just south of 15th St. in Downtown Oakland. The sports bar Meridian, which never seemed to me to be well-suited to Berkeley, closed. Bocanova, a California cuisinish place in Jack London Square, opened fairly recently.
But I think the big culinary event in Berkeley was the opening of Trader Joe's at University & MLK.

re: redrover
I guess this website about reopening is wishful thinking.

Revival opened just before summer in the former Downtown space.
The Trappist has greatly expanded its food offerings and is now open for lunch weekdays.
