Roadarmel's Chicken & Ribs in Elysburg, PA?

Hello!

We are headed to Knoebels next week and are looking for somewhere outside of the park to eat dinner. I imagine we will be eating our way through the park, but I know we will want to have something different for dinner. Rodarmel's was suggested as an option by a friend. Any opinions would be appreciated.

If you are going through Mt. Carmel, I second cleobeach's suggestion of Mattucci's. They still make the best cheese ravioli that I've ever eaten (OK...after my grandmother's). And good pizza.

For an amusement park, Knoebels has good food and the prices are very reasonable.

If you do want to eat outside of the park, Roadarmel's is a good option, since there are few places to eat nearby. They have a few booths inside to eat, as well as a few picnic tables outside. It is mostly a take-out place, and is extremely casual (think fast food restaurant)...perfect for amusement park attire. We often stop here for a chicken dinner after visiting the park. I am not sure of their hours of operation or which days they are open, so you should call and check first. It's easy to get to from the park (maybe 3 miles?), simply drive south on 487 into Elysburg and turn right onto Hickory Street (you will see a small sign for Roadarmel's immediately before the turn).

It's a very simple menu. They have rotisserie chicken (but much better than anything you find in a supermarket), as well as ribs. Several side dishes are available.

Roadarmals - while good chicken - is mostly a take out place. Elysburg is a food wasteland - not much to talk about. You do better by eating in the park - variety and resonable prices. The pizza place is real good and Friday night fish fry can't be beat in the area
