Rraci's in Brewster--Superb

DH and I had the pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Rraci's a couple of weeks ago. It was excellent. I never would have thought I would find such a great Italian restaurant less the 30 minutes from my house.
I started off with the Misticanza salad (mixed organic baby lettuce with pecorino cheese and walnuts, covered with paper thin slices of pear). I am not a big salad person, but it was delicious. My husband had the shrimp cocktail. He said it was one of the best that he ever had. We also split an order or Malfatti (house made spinach and ricotta dumplings covered with a light tomato sauce). This was the one dish that I wasn't too fond of. The texture was very similar to mochi, so it threw me off a little bit.
I was pretty full from the appetizers, so I only ate half of my cavatelli (with sweet Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, and tomatoes). I ended up eating the leftover pasta for the dinner the next night. The portions were generous. The pasta was very good. My husband really enjoyed his shell steak. They have some kind of special broiler that they use for their meats. I liked my pasta dish, but I plan to order the steak the next time I go.
By the time my chocolate souffle arrived, I was stuffed. I did eat half of it. Decadent, light, airy, delicious. My husband liked his Key Lime Pie, but he did say that there was way too much meringue topping.
It was a surprisingly excellent meal...perfect for a romantic evening out.
