In need of recommendations for places to eat downtown!
Help!!! I just moved to San Francisco from Brooklyn and am attending law school downtown on Mission and 2nd. ARE THERE ANY GOOD, REASONABLY PRICED PLACES TO EAT LUNCH DOWN HERE or just awful, $10 corporate buffets??

The definitive thread on lunches in the area around 3rd and Harrison, which is fairly close to you: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/6178...
You can also try Grove, which is at 3rd and Mission. Soup Freaks, on Mission and New Montgomery, does good soup and sandwiches. Sentinel, on New Montgomery and Stevenson, has some of the best lunch food around, but is take-out only.
I have to disagree with Robert about Tempura House II. Possibly the worst Japanese meal I've ever had, bordering on inedible. And it seems to be deserted most of the time. Robert: have you actually eaten there, and, if so, how long ago?
