I ate with my family the other day at Maruaki Hida. The place was fun, it's attached to the butcher shop and the beef was incredible (according to my boys, my wife and I don't eat meat). I can tell you that it seemed pretty reasonable (compared to some other beef restaurants where we have been, some of those can take your breath away.) my wife and I ate chicken, salad and an interesting rice dish. Overall excellent experience.
I really enjoyed eating at the ryokan featured in this travel report:
It's a great deal if you can book it through jalan.net.
