Best place in the metro to get Surly Furious on Tap?

  1. Furious is the most common Surly tap around the metro, so the answer depends on where you live and what kind of establishment you'd like to try.

Surly's website has a handy guide to where they can be found:

    1. I'm not the resident beer connoisseur, but Surly Furious is my go-to choice at Black Sheep Pizza.

      1. If you're in the downtown Mpls area, Mackenzie's is one of my favorite beer spots. A ton of GREAT options, typically have at least 2 Surly taps. Located right next door to the Orpheum.

        1. If you're in South Minneapolis, head to Buster's on 28th for the best burger in the metro, or to Sea Salt for some of the best affordable seafood. Wash both down with a Surly Furious. On the other side of the river, the Blue Door serves a mean burger, and usually has Surly on tap.

BDP's FB page indicates Bender now on tap.

          1. Cafe Twenty-Eight in Linden Hills is owned by the wife of one of the Surly Brewers (as mentioned in this article: http://www.seriouseats.com/2010/08/a-...), so they usually have one of the best selections of Surly in the Cities.

The link didn't work but I think this was it:

I've heard they have like 3 or 4 drafts, all Surly.

Blue Nile usually has 3 Surly taps and an overall well chosen, but small selection of drafts.

              1. Last year (probably true for this year, too) you could find it on tap at the Boulevard Grille in the Coliseum building of the State Fair.

                1. The Triple Rock currently has 3 Surly Taps: Coffee Bender, Furious, and Hell. I love the Triple Rock, but if you've never been there, know that it is a punk rock bar that serves food and has a music venue attached to the main bar.

Man Law #426: Don't fruit the beer.

The idea that Surly would produce a strawberry-infused beer (they haven't) is kind of silly.

The Happy Gnome in St Paul always has Surly on tap in some variety. Order the food with caution and deep skepticism, but never worry about the beer there.
