Tillman's Corner

I'll be driving from the MS coast, a friend from Pensacola. Tillman's Corner is mid-point. Googling restaurants there, well..... not much. Can anyone enlighten me? This will be for late afternoon/early evening - nothing 5-star *fancy*, just simple, casual and good. Having my preferences for the meet-up, it'd be seafood, bbq, cozy-Southern cooking or (new American) grill. Ideally, would like to keep it under $15.

  1. Get off I 10 at Exit 15 B and go N on Spanish Trail to Halls Mill Road. Take a right and go to Boiling Pot for good po boys and seafood.

Be better if you go through the tunnel and eat at Felix's Fish Camp at Battleship Parkway.

    The Boiling Pot @ Suite G, 5300 Halls Mill Road, Mobile, AL 251 - 602 - 8405.

    1. Well, this is just me, but Tillman's Corner is just West Mobile. So I would offer to drive the extra bit into downtown Mobile and meet at Wintzell's on Dauphin Street and soak up some beautiful old town. It's fun and will get you in & out for less than $15.

Of course, at that point you're in Mobile so if you feel more like barbecue I'd say to consider Brick Pit. Also, less than $15/pp.

There are a thousand different directions to go but maybe that will get you started.

Kudzu I second Wintzell's and Brick Pit. Wintzell's is about 2 minutes off I 10. Get off at Exit 28A and go W on Canal to S Washington. Take a right and go 5 blocks to Dauphin. Take a right and Wintzell's will be on your right. Brick Pit is out of your way a bit. You will have to go N on I 65 to Exit 3 and go W on Airport Blvd. to S University. Take a right and go to Old Shell Road. Take a right and Brick Pit will be on your left.

        Wintzell's Oyster House @ 605 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 251 - 432 - 4605.
