waterfront dining in the marina area

Looking for a great spot for lunch with a view of the water in the marina del rey area for out of town company - recommendations? suggestions? other than the Cheesecake Factory? has anyone had the lunch buffet at Shanghai Red's?

Cafe Del Rey is probably the best bet for food & view combination. Shanghai Red has passable food and a great view - I can't recall having a buffet there for lunch but the last time I went (quite a while ago) they did a great Fettucine Alfredo. Its been so long since I've been to JarNe (in the Ritz Carlton) that I've forgotten what the view situation is. Another choice might be the Chart House but I suspect its not open for lunch so check first.

The Chart House Marina Del Rey is open for Lunch only on Saturday and Sundays from 11:30am to 3pm. They do have a very nice view of the Marina.

Cafe del Rey is Great. If you're looking for something *much* more downscale, the Whaler in Marina del Rey does bar food and buckets of beer on the upper patio with an unbeatable ocean view.

If it's not too expensive for you, Cafe del Rey is very, very good.
