McDonald's - Sausage McSkillet Burrito - Discontinued??
So I drive up to my local McDonald's this morning...dreaming of the Sausage McSkillet Burrito...see I have tried them all..Sonic, Chick-Fil-A..yet I always come back to this....the sausage, the spicy sauce and the picante sauce...
To my horror...they say they no longer carry it...I ask if it is just this store or all of them....they say they don't know. Not being able to stand it I have to do another drive-by to another store....
Yes, it is still on the menu there...
So, anyone know what's up????
Seriously distraught over breakfast...
this was McDonald's to my email
Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's. We truly appreciate customer feedback and welcome this opportunity to share some information with you.
We're delighted to hear that you enjoy eating McDonald's Sausage McSkillet Burrito. It's important to know, however, that the Sausage McSkillet Burrito is not considered part of McDonald's national standard menu. Rather, this product is what we call an "optional" product. This means that each individual McDonald's franchise owner can choose whether or not to carry this item on their menu. That is why you might find this product at one McDonald's but not at another. Optional menu items at McDonald's include such products as Breakfast Burritos, Chicken Fajitas, chocolate and twist ice cream cones, soup, biscuits and gravy, among other items.
Your comments are very important to us and I have shared them with our Menu Management team for their on-going review of our menu. Also, you may want to express your desire to purchase Sausage McSkillet Burrito with the management at your local McDonald's. I'm certain they would be interested in hearing your comments as well.
Again, thank you for contacting McDonald's. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.

re: Velvet Elvis
Yep, when I lived back in Cleveland, a couple of the places around me offered it. I remember chicken noodle and broccoli cheese soups, not sure what else they might have had. The broccoli cheese was pretty tasty, and it was great to be able to run through the drive through on a cold day and get soup for lunch. Haven't seen any stores offering it in ages, though.
