Does anyone know where to find this done well? I just came across it and it sounds delicious. Supposedly it is pork belly in some kind of red sauce. Thanks

There's a recipe for it on Chow that looks pretty straightforward: http://www.chow.com/recipes/11509-red...

I think it's pretty common. We had it at Sea Harbour a couple of weeks ago, not as good as last time though.

Not so much red sauce as "red cooked" which is a slow braising technique essentially in soy/wine/star anise + other flavourings. As grayelf said, easy to make at home and yes, very delicious.

Isn't this one of Mao's favourite dishes that we had at 8 traditions dinner at Alvin Garden in April? If so, they make a good one.
