A week and a half ago, I bought some Turkish and Black Mission figs at St. Paul Whole Foods. I wonder if Holy Land may have some.

A friend of mine bought some at the Eden Prairie Costco about a month ago.

They are at the Wedge coop at 22nd and Lyndale, probably are at all the local co-ops.

Saw some at Surdyks last Thursday - the cheese shop - there were $1.29 each - I purchased 2 of them to go with some cheese.

I've purchased them at Mississippi Market before, though I don't know if they're there now. Might also be worth calling Trader Joe's -- never know what they have in the store at any given time -- or even Eisenberg's Fruit Market in downtown St. Paul (another never-know-what-they've-got store).

Just walked by a display at the Whole Foods in St. Paul, right as you walk in.

I just came from the Wedge coop, they have 3 different varieties of fresh figs including 'brown turkey figs' and 'black mission' and a variety that is green on the outside. The price is much better than $1.29 each....around $4.50 for a basket of at least 6 or more... make sure you let them ripen to be soft for maximum sweetness. I will always remember my first fresh fig....in Paris in 1973.

I hate to recommend this place but Trader Joes has them for $3.99 a pound
