Help me choose celebratory Dinner!

Hello all,

Please help me choose between these 7 restaurants, for a Sunday celebratory dinner, based on very few things:

1) Food Quality
2) Value / dollar
3) Comfort

Restaurants are (in no perticular order):

Coppa
Ten Tables
Dante
Hamersly's Bistro
Craigie on Main
Gran Gusto
L'espalier

Thanks, and please say why!!!

I would choose Craigie on Main. I know there's a thread going on now with some detractors, but in 4 visits I've never had anything but excellent service and fantastic food. They also have always given some gift or extra from the chef the times we said we were celebrating a special occasion. And I've been to all the others except Coppa, so I feel like I have a decent perspective.

Recently had my 15th year anniversary at Craigie, and it was outstanding in all facets (service, food, etc.). I cannot recomend it enough for a special occasion ....was pricey though, but for that kind of experience, it was worth it. The only detractor was it got really hot in there, I suspect because of the open kitchen .......but damn it got warm!!!!

i complained about the lack of flexibility of the chef at Craigie, but i am going back on Sunday; this is one of my favorite places in Boston. The temperature was fine when i went about 3 weeks ago.

Yeah, I read your post, and you had some valid points in that the server should have told you that the chef was not going to comply to your requests. He did comply with my request of switching my desert to a cheese course, but I guess I just got lucky, because everyone else says he doesn't budge. I come from the school of thought that in food service you should be as compliant as possible, but that being said, I am no longer in the industry, and he's one of the top dogs in boston, so what do I know? Hope you have a better experience this time though!!! Yeah, I don't know if it was because it was so hot outside or what, but it got WARM in there......maybe cuz we were seated at the high top tables?? or just in a warm current? Oh well! Still was delicous!

I was told upfront about the chef's attitude; i was not the OP on that thread. Still, Craigie has become one of my favorite places.

I would choose Hamersley's. Weekend looks nice and they have a very nice outdoor eating area. The food is fantastic and there are some great spots to grab a drink before or after!

Coppa doesn't take reservations. Cross that off the list for a group of 7 people!
