R&G Chef headed for Champagne Seafood?

Heard today that the R&G Lounge's chef (currently vacationing in China) is headed to Champagne Seafood (ex-Joy Luck Place) in San Mateo after his return. Can anyone confirm this?

This should come as no surprize to old China hands, but good Chinese chefs (cooks) are constantly changing locations. It seems to be in the blood. There used to be a group of Chinese foodies who knew who was cooking where, and were happy to tell you.

I don't who the chef was but I was at R&G last month for a banquet and things were fine...actually it was excellent.

Just spoke to them and they say no, this was a long time ago that this chef went to work for them. A different chef was just in China, I think.
