Improbable location--any known place to eat (maybe brunch) near Eglinton & DVP (near Honda there)?
I have to hang out there around mid-morning on Saturday and find food on foot. It looks like there is zilch nearby (Armenian Kitchen opens at 11am).

Hmmm, that area is difficult even with a car. I believe there is a diner-type place in Eglinton Square that people say is decent for breakfast. Watt's maybe? On Wynford Heights Crescent there is (was?) a hole in the wall diner, where I was never tempted to eat in many years of working nearby; and, there is a Tim Horton's ;)

The Diner at Wynford Heights Crescent is long gone.
It's also a bit of a walk from the Honda dealership. You're pretty much stuck in no man's land and may have to concede defeat and just stay at the Tim Hortons or Pizza Nova in the plaza beside the dealership.
I've only ate at Route 66 in Eglinton Square, and it was awful. Can't speak to the other diner/restaurant there.
There is a Thai place called Lime Leaf I ordered from last year. It's across the street on Vic Park south of Eglinton in a small plaza beside a car rental place. I can't remember it being memorable, but in fairness, it was a takeout lunch that I ate an hour later.

Quite a walk but in the Flemingdon Plaza (Don Mills between Eglinton and Overlea) is Caribbean Palms...very tasty rotis, jerk chicken and other dishes.

Are you having your car serviced at Honda by any chance? I used to work there and they have a fairly decent in-house cafe. About a block to the east there's a little strip plaza on the south side of Eglinton with a new Tim Horton's. Watt's at Eglinton square is a good half-hour walk....however not as far as Armenian Kitchen so that probably isn't a big deal for you. There's a Druxy's, I believe, across from the Real Canadian Superstore on Wynford Drive but I'm not sure if it's open on weekends as it's in an office building.

You are right about that café in the Honda dealership. I quite like their tuna salad. I think the woman running the place also has a couple of "homemade" dishes each day that often smell and look quite yummy.

The one time I ate there (at the Dealership), there was a veggie omelette offered with no mushrooms available. If she has something interesting, that would solve my dilemma...

You might be able to walk to Victoria Park and head south. There are a few places there (none of which I've tried) but I'd much rather explore than end up in Pizza Nova! I thought I saw a Thai place, Filipino place, some mom and pop diner type, and a few others. It's not a short walk but if you've got the time and the weather is decent...why not?
Or you could take the bus, head west on Eglinton and hit either Pho Saigon or Krispy Roll on Warden.

dude, its a dealership, since im assuming you are bringing a car in for repairs, why not ask to "Test Drive" another car, just go grab some food from wherever you want, you are pretty limited in walking distance, and 30 minutes isnt really walking distance for many, im thinking 10 at most. If you can get a car, you have lots of options!

When you test drive there, someone from the dealership comes with you, alas!!

I'm going to be travelling with a 2 year-old so not sure that much walking will be happening--though he's a pretty good walker. Filipino sounds intriguing...

Do they not have a shuttle service? Take the shuttle or customer service van or whatever to Olde Yorke or Mikado on Laird and then get them to come back and pick you up (depending on how long your service will take).

I'll call and ask if they do--good idea.

Are you sure they have to go with you?
Either way, just take the guy for a long drive like Kramer did on Seinfeld!

Yeah, like to get the 2-y-o tired for a nap---lots of walking is good this way!

Ooohhh, Olde Yorke and Mikado are both go-to restos for us! Nando's on Brentcliffe is also another solid choice.

Nando's is mainly chicken, right?

Yup. Grilled chicken mostly, whole, parts or kebabs, and a few sides..fries (frozen but nice when seasoned with their spices), rice, corn. They have Portuguese egg tarts, which my kids love. The chicken liver appetizer is good too.

So where did you end up having lunch?

Armenian Kitchen. The car was ready sooner than expected but they were prepared to provide car pick-up/drop-off if we'd needed. AK is very good value and taste; it it was closer, we'd be there more often.
