Priyani in Northridge closed?

There is a blurb on the LA Times website that Priyani Cafe in Northridge closed. Anyone know why or what happened?

  1. In this economy, you already know the answer. That same source also mentioned the fact that many, many small restaurants are going out of business, as there is no business to go out for.
Yet another casualty of the economy, plain and simple. But that stretch of Reseda Blvd. is tough under even better times. Northridge is very chain-restaurant driven, much like Santa Clarita, and many of the suburbs, regardless of economic profile.

Sad to hear. The thing I read only mentioned that it closed, didn't give any other info. I didn't want to assume anything.

    2. This is sad news. I only ate there once a few weeks ago, but it was good enough to warrant a return visit.

If you go RIGHT NOW to Angeli Caffe, Priyani Dissanayake is cooking hoppers and curry—tonight only—until 10 p.m. I've just come back and it was as good as ever. Egg hoppers, string hoppers, plain hoppers, mutton and chicken curry, plus chicken biryani and lampreis.
