Fine Dining in Boston?

Hey Everyone,

My mother and I are big foodies from New York City. We're looking for a restaurant to have dinner on Sunday the 5th in Boston. We will be staying in the Sheraton over by Prudential. Budget isn't an issue. We'd probably do 3 courses each unless there is a dinner menu or tasting menu (a tasting menu would be great). Preferably 15 minute walk at most from Pru, otherwise we'll take a cab or the T.

This is a celebratory dinner.
No Asian or Italian for this dinner.

Thank you all so much.

Thanks guys, distance really isn't a killer, so if it isn't close by, we'll live. Just would like to see something special in Boston fine dining. Personal favorites would be appreciated too!

boston fine dining is limited. top 4 places in boston are probably menton, l'espalier, no. 9 park and clio. all french. keep in mind that nyc fine dining is levels above boston. for experience wise, o ya and the chefs table at l'espalier would possibly be exceptions. unfortunately the former is japanese and the latter is not available on sundays.

btw troquet is not open sundays and sorellina is italian.

Closest would be Clio (3-4 blocks away) and L'Espalier (connected thru the Sheraton by way of the Prudential). Both French and solid choices.

i'd add sorrelina to a "close-by" and high end choice and second l'espalier and clio. While there's nothing high-end about it, my nyc friends like me to take them to Summer Shack for fried clams (they claim there aren't any decent ones in NYC).

l'espalier, clio, troquet and number 9 park are all big faves on here and easy distance from your hotel. a board search will help you refine your choice.
