Bistro Camino Closed?

Hey all -
This past friday night I was looking forward to a unpretentious, well priced casual meal of good quality comfort food. So of course I headed to Bistro Camino on bloor.

When I got all the way over there it was closed. On a friday night at 7 pm.
So, has anyone been lately?
Are they just on summer vacation? Or are they closed permanently?

We ended up driving all the way back downtown and having a lovely meal at le paradis.

Gave me a slight scare here. I keep meaning to try this place out but never find the time to. Would have been a shame if I closed before I could.

I just had a heart attack when I read this.

I was planning to have a little fun celebratory dinner there this week!

But alas, reports of Bistro Camino's demise are greatly exaggerated... they are open for business. And our reservation is made!

Thank goodness! When I called this afternoon, no-one was answering...then I realized they're closed on Mondays. Sounds like others did get through, but cubmike's experience is still a mystery. The last time I went was at lunchtime. Some of my buddies from UofT were having a bit of a reunion there and were gathering at the door at about 12:10 along with some other diners. They had "forgotten" to unlock the doors and only did so after I called them by cell after noting some movement inside.

hilarious. I bet their phone was ringing off the hook today after cubmike posted this topic.

Just reminds me to make an effort to go there more often (the reason why it is an "effort" is we have a young baby at home and it is hard to get out for dinner these days. but we will re-double our efforts.)

I was there earlier in the month. The waitress informed me that they going on holiday until the 24th. Reopening on the 25th of August.

Aha! the vacation explains it. Sort of what I anticipated - Thankfully!
