I'm going to Laredo, TX, for a week and I need some good foodie restaurants. Also, I have an eternal layover at the Houston airport -- anything decent to keep me occupied there?

El Meson de San Agustin - Mexican, which is downtown. little hole in the wall.
Palenque Grill - Mexican
Taco Palenque - not your ordinary Fast Food Mexican, its authentic
Taco Tote - Mexican
Salsa's - Mexican / Sushi
La Estancia - Mexican
Genji - sushi
Hayashi Hibachi - Japanese / Sushi
La Posada Hotel - Zaragoza Grill or Tack Room - Mexican, Steaks

I'll second Taco Palenque. Fast food, to be sure, but excellent. A real find.

And La Posada... The beautiful and gracious queen of Tex/Mex border hotels. I've been staying there for decades. I love that place.
