addison deel mar--better than ever!
I have been there ever since they first opened, I have to say that each time the place shows better.
Today, I had the best ever from them, and maybe one of my best ever, period.
We had the 4 course menu, as I can never eat much so the Chef's menu would just be a waste for me.
I had the brocolli in green curry sauce and it was a wow, wow, wow.
Next the chanterelle dish was another wow, wow.
The lamb was as good as it gets, however I only had a few bites, I was full.
The dessert was the peach one with mint leaves. The mint leaves melted in your mouth with very little sweetness and pure mintiness, and soooooo good. Wow, wow, wow, plus another wow for the mint.
Wife had mainly the fish stuff and she loved it. 1st was the crab legs, 2nd the salmon with a cucumber/apple/graprfruit salad that I finished all, especially the sauce. She loved the Loup de Mere, and she loved the panacotta.
Since the menu changes, I would definitely recommend a visit to Addison ASAP. Pricey, but well worth it.

With a handle of 4wine, we need some details on accompanying wines :)
Also, is the 4 course prix fixe? If yes, price point?
Thanks.

re: aafflyer
Ha aafflyer, the wine was the only dissapointment of the night--and it was my bottle of 2001 Delectus Sacrashe Vineyard. Had high hopes for it, but it was rather boring. I also had a bottle of 01 Ramey Jericho Canyon with me, but I hoped that some air will change the Delectus so I did not open it. Big mistake. Anyway, the wine was the only dissapointment of the evening. We had the cheese selection, actually my wife had most. I took a big piece of Stilton from her and paired it with a glass of Warres 20 year Tawny Port, and that was excellent, but the little glass must have been something like $30 or so, a bit too much for my tastes.
The 4 course meal is $98 and while a bit steep, worthwhile IMO. The cauliflower dish is one that is a must. The peach dessert dish was also phenomenal. It had 2 mint leaves made out of don't know what, but when they melted in the mouth...pure heaven.

re: 4wino
Thanks for follow-up. I've eaten at downstairs restaurant once (drawing a blank on name right now, and don't feel like googling).
Sad about the wine, has great tasting notes on Cellar Tracker.
I will have to find a special occasion and head to Addison. As you say, price may be a bit steep, but not out of line for quality, reputation, atmosphere, and service.
