Duck legs in Chapel Hill / Durham

I thought I'd just wander into WF for duck legs. Apparently not -- the butcher says they never carry them. Any other ideas? Cliff's? Somewhere else? I feel like I've seen them 'around' but now I don't know where to go. Thanks for any info.

Cane Creek has started raising ducks but I think they have them for sale only sporadically.
I think Cliff's is your best bet.
I've seen duck breast and duck legs confit at Southern Season also so they may be able to get legs too.

Try contacting Spain Farm in Raleigh - spainfarm@yahoo.com

They sell shitake mushrooms at the Durham Farmers Market. They are also raising ducks. When the weather cools down a bit, they should be back at the Durham market with shitakes and duck.

We got an e-mail from Spain Farm today. They will be at the Durham Farmers Market on Saturday. If you are interested in duck legs or duck breast, call or e-mail them to pre-order.

[From the farm's e-mail - We are taking orders for the duck and will only bring them to market
on individual order due to the fact that we do not currently have the means to keep large quantities cold all morning long. Feel free to e-mail or call us for orders.

I'd try Cliff's Meat Market in Carrboro. I suspect he can get them if he doesn't carry them. His prices are usually quite competitive, too. If he can't help, I'd ask at your local farmers market.

I've gotten them from Cliffs - but you might want to call first to make sure he currently has them. If not, he'll get them for you.
