Help, I have to eat at The Bottom Line -- what am I in for?

TorontoJo Aug 20, 2010 03:14 PM

Oh dear. I've just been talked into a pre-Jays game dinner at The Bottom Line with some friends/colleagues. What should I expect? A quick search doesn't turn up a web site (though I didn't look past the first 10 results). One of my friends is a pretty serious food and wine lover from Boston. Should I try and talk our other friend out of his suggestion? Or what should I order at the Bottom Line?

I've only been there once, for a drink, so I can't recommend what to order. But it's actually called
Meating at the Bottom Line. It's the same ppl who owed Meating at Yonge and Eg.

    Here's the link:

It's generally fairly mediocre (I work in the building and have to go somewhat often), but it has a few items that aren't too bad. I actually like the jerk wings (I'm not sure if I've had any elsewhere that I've liked as much) and my friend is a big fan of the Raging Cajun sandwich.

If you go, TOJo, I want to hear all about it. Hockey season's kicking in soon.

Did you end up going, TorontoJo? If so, how did you like it, and do you think it'd be a fun place to go with a group?

I'm trying to figure out a place for my bf's bday dinner. It's on a Friday night with both Leafs and Raptors games playing, and he originally wanted to do it at the Real Sports Bar but they're booked solid already. We're trying to find a good alternative in the entertainment/financial district to catch the games - well, he is. I'm hoping for a place with decent food too!

I did end up going and my low expectations were sufficiently met. :)

It wasn't horrible, and some things were decent. I would just stick to the "safe" stuff on the menu. The atmosphere is nice and would be fun for a birthday gathering for sports fans.
