I am generally a meat and carbs kind of gal- when it comes to eating vegetables I can be quite picky. Oddly enough, however, the dishes that I dream about at night are salads! There are 4 really stand out salads that I constantly find myself craving:
Crema's Ensalada Mixta En Aderezo De Cacahuate Enchilado with Grilled Shrimp- it comes with mixed greens, avocado, fresh corn, panela cheese, and a vinaigrette that's slightly on the sweet side. I could eat this salad everyday for the rest of my life and be content.
Perry St. used to have this salad that featured grilled peaches, candied pistachios, crystallized wasabi (omg drooooool), and some kind of creamy cheese- maybe goat? Unfortunately, they no longer have this on their menu :(
Vezzo/Gruppo/Posto/Spunto have this delicious Tre Colori salad that includes mixed greens, roasted pears, walnuts, and gorgonzola cheese.
And finally, all the way in London, Jamie Oliver's 15 makes a burrata, white peach, and rocket salad that is to die for.
What are your most memorable salads? Looking at my list I seem to have a thing for sweet and savory salads, do any of you have any recommendations?

oh my, these all sound so good... especially the watermelon salad from otto and the fig & olive salad, yum!
i also have a new fav to add! Just had Giorgio's of Gramercy's chickpea & avocado salad with scallops- I'm already salivating over the left overs!

I generally shy away from ordering salads in restaurants because I prepare a lot of different salads at home, and when I go out to eat, I'm looking for things that I'm less likely to make myself. That said, these have been superb:

my favorite salad is unfortunately no less than ten hours away - Zuni in SF. i've tried to find something comparable in New York but haven't yet.
meanwhile, i like the Arugula with roasted beets, Roquefort cheese and candied walnuts. Balthazar serves something similar, but with microgreens instead of arugula.
