Good Fun Place for an 8 person Dinner on the Westside?
I've got friends from out of town coming in tonight and am looking for a fun place to have dinner Saturday night. We're all in our late twenties, early thirties, if the place as a good bar that's a plus.
I recommended Bazaar, but one of my friends thought it looked too weird. I will try to convince her but if she still holds out I need a back-up plan.
Her experience with LA Cuisine is limited to the SBE Katsuya and Geisha House, both of which I'd like to avoid (although I know they probably fit the bill of what they're looking for).
I'd like to try to go a little more adventurous and off the beaten path (somewhat). Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like they're looking for fun. Wilshire is fantastic, but might be too staid. Gjelina and also Waterloo & City are impossible to book at this late date.
I suggest Chaya Venice. Maybe Fraiche in Culver City. Also look into Whist at Viceroy or Penthouse at the Huntley.

Consider Waterloo & City in Mar Vista or certainly Animal would fill the bill. But getting reservations on that short of notice may not be possible. I can't get the place link feature to work even one damn whit (a new site bug I suppose) so I'll just paste in the links URL's below.
