Best Hamburger in the State of Kentucky

The Herald Leader's article about the best burger in Lexington [of course they missed the finest burger in town:Dudley's Bacon Stilton] set me to thinking.

What's the best burger in the state?

I only get to eat a few meals in Kentucky each year and they usually center around the chili bun or hot brown, two regional dishes that don't exist out here in Texas.

When I need a burger I usually just walk the three blocks from my mom's house to The Rootbeer Stand in Corbin but I'm more than willing to branch out.

The pool hall's of Eastern Kentucky [formerly a great place for burgers] are shuttering at an alarming rate so I'd love to hear about one that only you know about, even better if it's in the Cumberland Highlands area.

Of course it doesn't have to be a pool hall to be good so please include whatever little joint you've found in your travels.

A little bit (1:15) of a drive from Corbin, but the Dairy Hut in Harlan, KY has really good burgers (they have chili buns, too!). Actually, there are several good burgers in Harlan. Lou's Kountry Kitchen has a good burger, and believe it or not, the BP Double Kwik makes a good one, too.

    2. Pat's Pool Room in Manchester.

      1. My favorite is the burger @ The Back Burner/Back Door, Mid City Mall, Louisville. My best girlfriend swears by the burger at Uptown Cafe, Bardstown Road @ Duker, Louisville.
