Brew Ridge Trail

A group of Central Virginia breweries have come together to promote their beers the same way Virginia vineyards have a "Wine Trail." I've had beers from all of these guys and there are some shining stars. This weekend they are having a music festival and in celebration have created a "Collaboration Ale" - a small batch Black IPA with input from all 4 Master Brewers. The other day I had it on cask at a local pub and it is a really interesting beer.

So I thought I'd invite all beer-loving Chowhounds to check out the festival. And if you can't get there this weekend, check out these breweries when you can. One is in Downtown Charlottesville, one 20 minutes away in Crozet, and the other two are another 20 minutes or so out in the country surrounded by the Blue Ridge mountains. A beautiful setting for beautiful brews.

I'm not in that area, but just wanted to say that it sounds great, and I think the creation of more beer or wine trails is a good thing!
