Good Chinese takeout in Tulsa?

I am a native of Springfield, Mo who has been in Tulsa for a year and have still not found a decent chinese takeout place. I know Springfield is unusual for its size as far as having a lot of good Chinese places but I cant find anything here even remotely decent. I have heard Chopsticks is good-but it is a little far away and does not really seem like a takeout spot. Any advice would be awesome!

  1. Have you tried the Golden Gate on Harvard? They will customize a meal for you. http://www.goldengatetulsa.com/

Thanks-we will give that one a try.

    2. Szechuan Express on the NW corner of 51st and Memorial is pretty good.

      1. Tulsa finally has two authentic Chinese restaurants. I think both will be happy to fill a takeout order though for the dishes I like best (casseroles and sizzling platters) it's better to dine in.

        Guang Zhou Dim Sum
        11630 E Skelly Dr 438-8878
        second location: 4003 E 11 St 835-7888

        Asian Cuisine
        9720 E 31 St 610-8883 (closed Tuesday)

Brian really knows his food especially Chinese.

After reading Brian’s reviews on the www.tulsafoodblog.com I have been to both of the restaurants he recommended multiple times.

Guang Zhou Dim Sum has closed the Skelly Drive location. I have eaten at their 11th street location more often and I have never been disappointed.

        2. A new chinese place opened on Riverside and 96th called Wang Wang that, despite the ridiculous name, is actually very good takeout. My wife loves the cheese wontons and all the dishes we have tried have been quite good.

I tried it - mediocre. Szechuan Express is way better.

I miss the Szechuan Express that was at 57th and Lewis. Do you know if they are related?

Yes they are the same ownership and virtually identical menus. The one at 51st and Memorial is the original - I think the overhead on the converted Grandys on Lewis killed them

I tried it after reading rave reviews in the Tulsa World and I think you are kind to call it mediocre.

I will give Wand Wang a try.

                Thanks!
