Carmel, Ca
Where is the best place to eat in this small town?
Price not an object. Just looking for best overall experience.
Thank you,

Wow, an open-ended question...
seafood? Italian? view & food, basic good American?
Guess I just need more info. I don't live there, but I'm there at least 3 weeks a year.›3 Replies-

Yeah, more info would be helpful...But, Aubergine in L'Auberge is IMHO the best in the village of Carmel. I have liked Grassing's everytime I've been there. Casanova is solid though we generally go there for lunch as dinner can be crowded and I think the food suffers just a bit.
If you want to venture out a bit Marinus at the Bernardus Lodge has been fantastic (and the best in the area again IMHO) the 5-6 times I've been. I haven't been to Pacific's Edge for quite a while but the view is incredible.

Pacirfic's Edge is incredible! I would also not miss Sierra Mar in Big Sur @ the Post Ranch Inn for a nice high end dining experience. Grasing's, Christoperh's on Lincoln and Anton & Michel are other favorites of ours in Carmel. Enjoy! ;)

re: syrahgirl
hello,
we ended up at da giovanni. what a great little place. cute room, great service and awesome food. the greek salad was really unique as everything was finely diced and they had a appetizer of theses mini homemade meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. delicious!
thank you everybody
