Le Verre Vole reservations?

Does anyone have advice on making reservations at Le Verre Vole?
I cannot seem to get even an answering machine when I call through. Could it be that they are closed for August? Their website has no info.

  1. One of the FAQ's we've failed to address is "How to contact places in August when they're closed."
    The answer is bifold:
1 Generally speaking, French restos, save the most starred, don't have websites or if they do they are not updated - before you get all huffy, when did you update yours last?
2 French/Parisian restos don't leave messages on their answering machines that are holiday specific - before you get all huffy, when did you update yours last?.

My rule in August is to have a list of places that I want to eat at and start calling at about 10:30 AM and keep calling until I score. But that's because I eat at new places. If you want to eat at "old" places, check the threads here or our blogs.

Thanks. I'm actually trying to reserve for September, but I won't fret.

    2. suggest you try quedubon. it is nearby, the food is better, the wine as good and their "attitude" is way better.

      1. Chicas, they are actually closed for renovations (I live nearby and pass le Verre Vole on my way to work). I can't remember the exact opening date, it was sometime in early September but can take a look and will let you know. For what it's worth, I love the Verre Vole. Coinstot Vino is also a good choice, which is in the Passages de Panorama.

Tried to find out their opening hours for August myself just this week by sending them an e-mail and got a response saying they would be closed for the renovations Phyllis mentioned until "around" the 6th or 7th of September.

I walked by and the sign which mentioned when they would reopen is not longer there, but they were definitely still closed. If I find out more, I will let you know.
