We are in Phoenix for one night and want to go to a restaurant of ethnic taste. We are staying lowest Pinnacle Rd for those of you familiar but have noaversion to driving about a bit. Looking for great flavor,moderate butnot ridiculous cost. Can be any ethnic but not Italian or even fusion. Amy ideas or questions.....thank you.

I guess you're staying in North Scottsdale, which isn't really known for ethnic diversity. Here are some ideas:

Tandoori Times might be one of the best Indian places in the Phoenix greater metro.
The Persian Room and Pars Persian Cuisine are similar. I've had high quality meals both places.
I've also had good luck at Havana Cafe.
There are some decent Thai places around, Takeda Thai, Osha Thai, Swaddee Thai Cuisine.
If you don't mind vegan, Fresh Mint is different. It is a "fake meat" kind of place with SE Asian flavors.

It might be a good idea to check to make sure your choice is open on the night in question.
