In search of veal...

I hate to be such a pain on your board, but I want to ensure that my trip up from New Orleans does not include a single wasted meal!

Which restaurants in South Philly serve the best veal dishes? Some lively atmosphere/fun waiter banter would be nice lagniappe (sorry, "extra").

Appreciate everyone's help as I craft this dining orgy to come!

Chris

    I think I would recommend Dante & Luigi's

Second Dante & Luigi's... my dad is still talking about that veal chop he had there 4 years ago. It's very "south philly" and, also, cash only.

Tre Scalini, in South Philly, has outstanding veal fiets and veal chops. The best around.
Skip the thin (scallopini?) pieces and get those thick, tender filets or the chops.
It is not byob. Banter not included.
The pastas are homemade and very good.
Lately we have been going more to Le Virtu, but for veal - Tre Scalini.

Second the veal at Tre Scalini--it seems to be their specialty. But it *is* BYOB unless that changed very recently.

Just had the veal chop at Tre Scalini this weekend: outstanding. In fact, everything our group ordered, including antipasti, pastas, and vegetable side dishes, was delicious. The service was a little relaxed, but we weren't in a rush. The place is definitely still BYO. It was my first time there, and I'd be delighted to return.
