What happened to Va Penseiro?

My wife and I will be in Chicago over Labor Day, so we thought we'd renew acquaintance with Va Penseiro, only to find that it's gone. We're going to Piccolo Sogno instead, but does anyone know if the Va Penseiro gang has set up shop somewhere else?

    Va Pensiero has re-opened as Pensiero Ristorante, with a more contemporary and moderately priced menu and wine list. Initial reports have been very good.

      As I understand it, the owners of the Margarita Inn bought out the restaurant after the restaurant's owner decided to close up shop. It is now called Pensiero Ristorante, and the new owner of the restaurant has stated that he kept the BOH in place.

      I don't think that the former owner has a new restaurant yet to his credit (which is a shame, I've heard nothing but good things about the food there).

      In any event, it could be interesting to see if the new owner has been able to do as he hoped by retaining the staff.
